This is the cluster hub: fifteen questions worth asking any dental clinic abroad, answered briefly for Adil Dent Clinics, each linking to the article that works through it properly. This page has been reviewed and approved for publication by Adil Dent Clinics.

Quick Answer

The fifteen questions cover who treats you, whether your remote plan is preliminary, what imaging you need and should send, whether a deposit is required, who books the flight and who organises accommodation and transfers, when the final plan is confirmed, what the plan and invoice contain, what implant warranty applies, which consent languages exist, and what follow-up is available after you return home. For Adil Dent Clinics: the plan is preliminary until an in-person examination confirms it; the patient books the flight while the clinic organises hotel and transfers; no deposit or advance payment is currently required before travel; a treatment plan precedes treatment and an official invoice follows payment; implant warranty is connected to the manufacturer; consent forms are currently available in Turkish, English and Arabic; and follow-up communication is available once you are home.

Before You Commit to Anything

1. Who will actually treat me?

Ask for the name of the treating dentist, or at least how and when you will be told before treatment begins. Ask whether the person answering your messages is clinical staff, and whether a dentist has reviewed what you sent. The doctors page lists the clinicians, and how to verify an Istanbul dental clinic covers checking a registration.

2. Is the plan I have been given preliminary?

Yes, if it was produced remotely. Preliminary information covers likely treatment, expected duration, expected cost and the steps involved; it is not a diagnosis. The difference, and the four reasons a plan legitimately changes after examination, are in preliminary information versus a final treatment plan.

3. Am I dealing with the clinic or an intermediary?

Ask directly. The answer changes who is responsible for what, and who holds which authorisation. See agency, platform or clinic and, for the regulatory side, what a health tourism authorisation is.

4. Is a deposit or advance payment required before I travel?

According to Adil Dent Clinics' current policy, no. That is the policy as it currently stands rather than a permanent commitment, so confirm it for your dates. Why it matters, and what to ask if any clinic does request one, is in deposits before travelling.

5. What happens if I decline the plan after the examination?

Ask before you buy a ticket, and keep the answer. It is the question most patients skip and most need. It sits inside the fuller pre-flight list in what to confirm in writing before booking your flight.

Records and Imaging

6. What photographs should I send first?

Clear photographs of your teeth, and a frontal photograph showing your teeth and smile. How to take usable ones, and what they can and cannot show, is in what photographs to send before a dental consultation.

7. Do I need an X-ray before travelling?

It depends on your condition and the proposed treatment; not every patient needs the same imaging. Ask whether imaging before travel would change the preliminary information you have. See do I need an X-ray before travelling.

8. Panoramic X-ray or CBCT — which, and why?

They answer different questions: a panoramic radiograph is a broad two-dimensional overview, CBCT provides three-dimensional data and generally involves a higher radiation dose than conventional dental radiography. The choice is clinical and case-specific. Full explanation in panoramic X-ray versus CBCT.

9. I already have imaging — what should I send, and will it be repeated?

Send the original files with dates, and expect that necessary imaging may still be taken at the clinic before treatment. Formats, age and what happens on arrival are covered in bringing your own dental X-rays and scans to Istanbul.

Travel and Logistics

10. Who books the flight, and who organises the hotel and transfers?

You book your own flight. The clinic organises hotel arrangements and the transfers: airport pickup, airport to hotel, hotel to clinic and back for appointments, and hotel to airport after treatment. Detail in who books the flight, hotel and transfers, with the transfer chain in how transfers work and accommodation questions in when the clinic arranges your hotel.

11. Which airport should I use, and how many days should I allow?

Ask the clinic which arrival airport suits your dates, and leave room before your return flight, because the number of appointment days is not known until the plan is confirmed. See choosing your airport and arrival time and how many days to allow in Istanbul.

At the Clinic

12. When is the final treatment plan confirmed, and what does it contain?

After the in-person clinical examination, with any necessary X-rays or scans. Before treatment begins you receive a treatment plan stating the treatments and procedures planned and the agreed cost of treatment. See the document sequence, and for the general standard, the written dental treatment plan. What happens on the day itself is in your first dental appointment in Istanbul.

Informed consent forms are currently available in Turkish, English and Arabic — see consent forms at Adil Dent. After payment you receive an official invoice documenting the amount paid, and a clinic-stamped document showing treatments performed and amounts paid may also be issued.

14. What implant warranty applies?

Implant warranty is connected to the implant manufacturer and subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions. Clinic treatment documentation is a separate thing: a record, not a warranty. Both are separated in how dental implant warranties work, and what to have recorded is in implant brand and batch information.

After You Go Home

15. What follow-up exists, and what do I do if I need help?

You receive post-treatment instructions, you may remain in contact with the clinic after returning home, and follow-up communication is available when questions or follow-up needs arise. Remote follow-up can answer questions and triage; it cannot examine you, so urgent symptoms need in-person care where you are. See what happens after dental treatment, once you are back home, and if a clinic stops responding, what to do this week.

Two Things No Clinic Can Answer

For balance: nobody can tell you in advance what your treatment will cost to the last figure, and nobody can guarantee the clinical outcome. Cost follows the confirmed plan, and outcomes depend on findings nobody has made yet. What this clinic does and does not claim is listed plainly in what this clinic can document, and what it does not promise.

Conclusion

Copy the fifteen questions into one message. The answers you get are as informative as the treatment plan: a clinic that answers them plainly, in writing, including the parts it cannot know yet, has told you most of what you wanted to find out.
